No, we’re not talking about boring school tests or those nasty “pop quizzes” we all hated. These are the quizzes in magazines and in the Sunday section of your newspaper most of us can’t resist taking. They are fast to write—and fun to take. The two main types of quizzes – lifestyle and “fast factual” will be covered.

In this one-lesson seminar, we’ll explore writing quizzes for publication.

KISS (Keep It Short, Sweetie) is a series of independent, one-week writing seminars on various short writing genres that are rarely explored. Each seminar gives the student targeted background into the writing area and uses a unique combination of assignments for the student to complete. Each writing genre in the KISS series is short and “do-able”—designed to fit in and around your daily routine.

Sandra Miller-Louden has had her quizzes published in such places as A&E’s Biography, Pennsylvania Magazine, Outer Banks’ Island Breeze, Kickline and Pittsburgh Tribune-Review’s Sunday Focus. In addition, “The Ohio 7-Question Quiz” was Sandra’s popular monthly feature for Ohio Magazine. Sandra also teaches her greeting card writing course for Writer’s College.
